With the imminent launch of the Agency Worker Regulations (AWR) in October this year, we have organised a series of exclusive seminars we are running in association with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).

following our latest research and market insight report Shifting Sands in relation to AWR, as the majority of IT contractors who support the industry operate under limited company status, many will be able to demonstrate that they are "in business in their own right" and, therefore, exempt from AWR. IT "contracting" is very much a career option (71% of those surveyed state that they choose to work on a contract basis). As such, their level of awareness to legislation that may impact this choice is the highest of any group we surveyed (51%). Those who remained exposed, however, are the specialists and support workers who have chosen Umbrella employee status and those engaged on a PAYE basis.
