360 jobs to be suppressed in BBC Online

26 January 2011
A new budget reduction announcement has hit the major UK media player. The BBC online budget is planned to be cut by £34 million over the next two years and this translates in 360 jobs to be suppressed including a large number of IT jobs.

Despite its huge success, the BBC online has a large variety of web sites and a refocus on the editorial priorities was needed.

The plans, approved by the BBC Trust will see a 25% cut in the service licence budget.
