Business intelligence data no longer confined to the enterprise user

02 February 2011
The beginning of 2011 sees organisations beginning to make their business intelligence (BI) data available to customers who are outside of business.

According to Stephen Brobst, CTO of data warehousing at Teradata, there is a new trend for BI technology that sees the data, previously used internally being consumed by customers via mobile devices.

Retail banking customers for instance could use a mobile phone to analyse data on their bank's data warehouse and be able use it to make personal banking decisions.

Business Intelligence is also developing within companies who are more and more realising the necessity to provide strategic decision-makers with access to data.
