Positive forecast for IT specialists in 2001

10 January 2011
2011 has just started and we can already hear many promises when it comes to IT recruitment.  According to Women in Technology, after IT jobs saw a rise in 2010, recruiters are forecasting the trajectory to stay positive in 2011.

"Those people who commit to self-development by expanding their skill set to include IT skills have a far greater chance of securing employment," claims HR expert Georgina Read, HR expert. She also explains that opportunities are available not only for those with professional IT qualifications, but also with a willing and an interest to develop their careers towards the IT market. "People who are passionate about gadgets, aspire to have a career in IT and continually expand their skill set alongside developing technologies may well succeed. However the IT industry moves extremely quickly, and it's important that people remember every job must provide an ultimate benefit to the business, so make sure you have a clearly defined career path and that there is a market for your specialism." she said.

It has been reported that IT jobs in the UK saw a 10.1% rise during 2010 more than the previous year. IT recruitment specialist, Gerry McLaughlin, tell us that the IT contractor market improved first, and now we see the permanent jobs market following the rhythm as well. Employers are again competing for IT contractors.
