Sharp rise in demand for permanent IT candidates

14 March 2011
A very good start for IT candidates in 2011 as the new report from the REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) and the firm KPMG is published. The report revealed a more important rise in demand for permanent IT vacancies than for any other sector. Demand for IT contractors has also registered a strong growth.

This is understood to be partly due to the fact that organisations were reluctant to spend until they had a visibility of the recovery; however, they all know that technology will enable them to drive recovery.
The skills most in demand seem to be for business analysts, and PHP and CAD (computer-aided design) candidates.

For contracting positions, employers seem to find hard the attract of C++ experienced candidates.
